Faregates are a new addition to the fare collection solution. Faregates can be configured to validate any fare media and are modular so they can be adapted to new fare media in the future. Integration with Genfare Link enables real-time data collection and over-the-air updates.

Key features
Faregates include lights that indicate which lanes are open and when correct fares have been paid. They also have passenger indicator panels adjacent to the fare validators.
Faregates come in two widths. A pair of wide barriers forms an ADA-compliant lane and a pair of standard-width barriers forms a more compact lane. There is a 2-inch gap between barriers on both sizes.
Fast
Faregates open and close in under a second and can admit 25-35 people per minute to the transit station. They are rated for up to 10 million cycles.
Empowered
Faregates come in multiple configurations to meet the needs of each transit agency and can also be customized to balance the budget, features, and types of fare media desired.
Connected
An ethernet connection keeps firmware up-to-date and facilitates the flow of data to and from Genfare Link, ensuring rider accounts are accurately reflected, data is transmitted in real time, and fare structures can be remotely changed.
