APTATech, formerly Fare Collection and Revenue Management / TransITech, descended on Columbus, Ohio last week, and it was a record crowd! The Conference, under a new name and held at a different time of year, kept its momentum from the previous year in Jacksonville, FL.
Under the umbrella of change, the APTAtech Program featured several new formats and additions.
- Session topics were far broader than in years past—everything from IoT, new fare payment technologies, lessons learned from new fare collection implementations, AI, last mile, and more were all big topics of conversation.
- New formats to mix things up and try something new included a game show format—Game Night! Lessons Learned from Early Mobile Adopters as well as a Fireside Chat: Best Practices from Fare Collection Experts. Both of these sessions used non-traditional practices geared toward higher attendee engagement when presenting information from speakers and participants.
- Some sessions had CEU credits affiliated with attending
- There were some incredible tour options including a Smart City Tech Tour. The tour allowed attendees to experience the future of mobility and hear from the Smart Columbus team about the smart city projects underway, learn about the technology that’s helping Columbus become “smart” and take a ride on Ohio’s first self-driving shuttle.
As it was announced in Columbus, APTAtech will be moving to Austin, Texas with Capital Metro as our host—looking forward to seeing everyone in August of 2020!
